Moving to Georgia

Located in the southeastern part of the U.S, Georgia or "the Peach State" was established in 1732 as one of the original 12 colonies. It later became a U.S. state in 1788 and was one of the original confederate states, which was later restored to the union in 1870. Georgia is now home to 9.8 million residents (as of 2009) that is often dubbed "the fastest growing area" and an area with the best quality of life. The area is renowned for its rich mountains and coastal plane that makes it a great destination for those interested in moving.

Capital City: The capital of Georgia is Atlanta.

Local Activities: There is so much to see and do when you relocate to Georgia. The area is home to numerous national parks such as the Little Ocmulgee State Park and Lodge, the Okefenokee Swamp Park and the Rock Ranch. You can also explore the Museum of Aviation, Callway Gardens or the Georgia Aquarium for fun-filled activities year-round.

Economy: The economy in Georgia is derived from agriculture such as corn, peaches, eggs, peanuts and cattle. The production of paper, chemical products and the tourism industry also contributes to Georgia's economy. Georgia is also home to numerous corporations such as the Coca-Cola Company, Georgia Pacific, ING Americas, Delta Airlines and the Home Depot.

Carter U.S. president is from Plains while Ray Charles the great singer is from Albany, Georgia. The singer, Amy Grant is from Augusta and poet, Conrad Aiken is from Savannah. Martin Luther King, Jr., the great civil rights leader is also from Atlanta.
