Water service line protection program could save homeowners money

May 4, 2010 - In light of recent natural disasters and unpredictable weather, many homeowners have incurred unexpected costs. As a result, Home Service has announced the availability of water service line protection in Mississippi, which could help real estate owners prevent a great financial burden.

The homeowner service provider has partnered with area utility companies to offer the protection plan, which could save customers up to thousands of dollars if they experience trouble with their water service lines.

This pipe brings freshwater into a home, which is pumped into water heaters, sinks and showers. Because the line typically begins on the curb outside the home, it is susceptible to damage from temperature change, shifting soil or aging. This type of damage can cause a decrease in water pressure or an unexpected increase in utility bills due to leakage.

Consequently, Home Service's protection plan could prevent Mississippi homeowners from "having to scramble and pay thousands of dollars in the midst of a home emergency," said Jonathan King, the company's CEO.

The service is available for a monthly fee and offers thousands of dollars in insurance, according to company officials.
