Model, singer moving to NYC soon
April 29, 2011 - Heidi Klum is looking to tackle New York City's real estate market soon.
The model, along with her husband, singer Seal, and four children, had rented a townhouse in the West Village area last year that features a basketball court and screening room. Now, the family is seeking a house closer to SoHo, where "Project Runway," which Klum hosts, is edited. The group will stay for six weeks while the show is recorded this summer.
Rumors stated that Klum and company had looked at three different two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouses and had offered $100,000 to rent all three for her short visit. However, her offer was rejected, as the housing developer is seeking long-term renters. The three penthouses would have cost $18,000, $15,000 and $20,000 a month, respectively.
The model and singer currently own a vacation house in Costa Careyes, Mexico; however, their permanent residence is just north of Beverly Hills in California - a six-bedroom, estate that covers 6,794 square feet, which the two purchased for $7.6 million in 2005.
