Homebuyers may want to consider moving companies with strict driving safety regulations

January 28, 2010 - Individuals who are considering a long-distance move may want to consider hiring a moving company to make the relocation process less taxing.

However, homeowners and renters may want to investigate the driving safety regulations that are enforced by each organization before they choose a moving company, as these drivers will be responsible for a great deal of personal belongings.

Some companies, such as Two Men and a Truck, have specific requirements and reward programs for their drivers, which could prove beneficial to their clients.

Each year, the franchise chooses one employee from more than 3,000 truck operators from across the country to receive its National Safe Driver Award. Nominees for this prize are required to have a safe driving record as well as no complaints or preventable accidents within the past year.

Mary Ellen Sheets, the company's founder, said the awards program is intended to reward "drivers who excel [in their] awesome responsibility [to their] customers [and] everyone else on the road.

Companies with similar safety promotion programs may help individuals who are moving feel more comfortable allowing other persons to handle their valuables.
