Homebuyers can attend digital open houses

April 23, 2010 - Day-long tours of countless open houses could soon become a thing of the past, as a new website is offering prospective homebuyers the opportunity to view available properties on their computers.

SILive.com reports that a new site called AdVentureOpenHouse.com was recently launched to enable shoppers to tour homes for sale without traveling. Visitors can watch narrated videos that allow homebuyers to see every room in the house and examine the home's details.

These virtual tours "walk you through the home, showing the flow of the home and focusing on all of the positive features," Nicole Vasquez, creator of the site, told the media outlet.

This option could prove beneficial to busy individuals who are looking to buy a home but have little time to devote to visiting available houses. Furthermore, this service could help homebuyers narrow their options and decide which properties are worth an on-site examination.

Using an online service could also help prospective purchasers shorten the decision-making process, which could enable them to close on a home in time to take advantage of the Federal Housing Tax Credit. According to the National Association of Home Builders, this program is slated to expire at the end of the month.
