Friends star David Schwimmer moving out of Hancock Park home

November 14, 2011 - Actor David Schwimmer has listed his home in the Los Angeles community of Hancock Park. He bought the home in 2001 for $5.5 million and it is back on the market for $10.7 million.

Schwimmer is best known for his character Ross in the hit television show Friends. He also recently directed the film Trust with Clive Owen and Catherine Keener. Other stars from Friends such as Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, have also been making moves, buying and selling homes in New York and Los Angeles.

The home was built in the 1920s and underwent renovations before Schwimmer moved in, and the actor further renovated the home by replacing windows, doors and hardwood floors. He also installed new heating and cooling systems.

The Mediterranean-style home has 11,000 square feet of living space including nine bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. It also features a wood-panelled library, screening room and five fireplaces. Outside the home, amenities abound, including a separate guest house, pool, spa and tennis court.

The Wall Street Journal reports that he and his wife are moving because they have recently started a family, but they are hoping to stay in the Hancock Park area.
