Chef Emeril Lagasse selling New York townhouse

December 1, 2011 - Chef Emeril Lagasse has listed his townhouse in New York's Upper East Side and is asking for $15 million. Reports say he purchased the home for $11.5 million in 2009.

Lagasse gained fame from his show Emeril Live and is now an author, restaurateur and celebrity chef. He has restaurants in cities all over the country, including Orlando, New Orleans and Las Vegas.

The six-story townhouse was built in 1910, but was recently completely renovated. The home has 6,900 square feet of living space and additionally two outdoor terraces that total 1,000 square feet. Inside the home contains 12 rooms including five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The basement doubles as a wood paneled wine cellar that can be accessed using the in-home elevator. The listing sets the chef's kitchen as the star, complete with custom cabinetry and a 150 bottle wine refrigerator.

Reports say he is selling the Upper East Side property and hopes to be moving into a smaller home.
