What college students should remember to pack when moving

March 27, 2012 - While many stores set up special sections for supplies new college students may be needing in the fall, there are some college essentials that can be easily forgotten. CollegeView lists items that are necessities but are often left off the list of things to pack.

According to the source, college students living on campus should be sure to stock up on change for laundry machines unless their school has a separate system. CollegeView says it is important to remember a mattress pad, as the twin-size mattresses found in most dorm rooms are not famous for being comfortable. College students may also want to consider purchasing cleaning supplies and an air freshener to keep the room tidy and any potential roommates happy.

Since some schools don't allow incoming freshmen to bring cars to campus, the source recommends bringing an alternative way to get around campus and other local areas such as a bicycle, skateboard or scooter.

Before moving boxes into a shared living space, it could also be a good idea to consult with roommates how the room would best be set up for everyone's needs.
