Unpaid bills may force celebrity photographer out of NYC condos

April 15, 2011 - The owners of a condominium building in Manhattan are suing celebrity photographer Ken Nahoum in an incident that may encourage the famous shutterbug to hire a moving company.

Known for his talented photography of the rich and famous and his work in music videos, the New York Times reports Nahoum has drawn the ire of management in his SoHo condominium building, who allege he owes $40,000 in unpaid charges and fees. Nahoum owns about 20 percent of the units in the building, meaning his late fees are producing a financial drain on the rest of the building's residents, forcing ownership to raise charges and make moves intent on pushing Nahoum out of the building.

They've made no secret that they want to photographer to pack his moving boxes, said the Times, taking his name off the intercom and taking steps to ensure he can't ride the elevator up to his penthouses. Nahoum insists in court that he hasn't fallen behind on payments at all.

He isn't the only famous person to fall on hard times when it comes to real estate. Reports say rapper Lil Wayne has had to put his Miami mansion on the market in order to deal with tax debts.
