Rosie O'Donnell moving into Oprah's old studio

April 1, 2011 - The crew from Rosie O'Donnell's new talk show will be unpacking their moving boxes in a setting familiar to afternoon talk fans - Harpo Studios.

In a blog posting on her website, O'Donnell announced her new talk show will be filmed in Chicago, in the same studio currently used to film Oprah Winfrey's nationally syndicated show.

"I just wanted to say: Hi, I’m coming to Chicago. Yes, I am, and I’m thrilled about it. And I get to work with all of you, who have created magnificent television for two decades-plus," she said in the video blog.

The show will also be aired on Oprah's OWN Network this fall. O'Donnell will be picking up the baton from Winfrey, who will retire her show after an award-winning 25-year run, but it won't be her first foray into the business. O'Donnell's previous talk show ran from 1996 to 2002 and scored six Emmys in a row at one point. She also had a spot on "The View" for several years.

Plans are still in the works for how O'Donnell's show will be run, and reports suggest some of Oprah's current production crew could be moving to O'Donnell's show in the fall.

Winfrey has been focused on strengthening the reach and impact of her network, which was launched in January but has so far gotten off to a sluggish start in terms of ratings.
