MLB pitcher Brandon Lyon moving out of Texas estate

August 24, 2012 - Celebrity real estate site Realtor.com reports that baseball star Brandon Lyon is cutting ties completely with the state of Texas, as he has listed his home in Katy for sale. While public records don't show how much he paid for the property, it has appeared on the market with a $1.045 million asking price.

Lyon began his professional baseball career in 2001 with the Toronto Blue Jays, who he recently rejoined after being traded by the Houston Astros. Throughout his career, he has also pitched for the Boston Red Sox, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Detroit Tigers. The Utah native is known for relocating to the area where his MLB team is located.

According to the source, the home was built in 2008 and is located just outside of Houston. With around 5,000 square feet of living space, the Texas mansion has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a number of upgraded features including built-in shelving and bookcases, a large stone fireplace, a spa-inspired bathroom in the master bedroom and a wine room. Outdoor amenities, such as the oversized swimming pool, spa and waterfall, will also likely prompt potential buyers to research movers in no time.
