Lil Wayne moving out of Miami mansion

April 11, 2011 - Rapper Lil Wayne has come into some tax trouble as of late, which may have encouraged him to pack his moving boxes and sell the mansion he owns on La Gorce Island in Florida.

Wayne only purchased the home last year for $14 million, but he's listed it for $12.9 million, reports AOL Real Estate. The source suggests the home may be priced to sell quickly, as Wayne could be in need of some quick cash to cover some debts he owes the Internal Revenue Service. He's had tax liens placed against him in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009, amounting to a grand total of $5.6 million in back taxes, said the report.

Before moving into the home on a permanent basis, Wayne actually rented the sprawling 15,101-square-foot mansion, since at the time he had to sell a four-bedroom condo in South Beach to pay off previous tax debts, said the source.

Aside from his real estate woes, Wayne's had a fairly productive few months since his release from Rikers Island prison for weapons charges. He released his latest album, Tha Carter IV, last winter.
