Jeff Probst moving to Gene Autry's estate

April 21, 2011 - The host of "Survivor" Jeff Probst, will soon be calling a moving company after he purchased the estate of Hollywood legend Gene Autry.

Autry - the famous "Singing Cowboy" who would later become owner of the California Angels - had a 7,983-square-foot, five-bedroom estate built in Studio City, California, back in 1949. Earlier this month, Probst closed on the sale of the home for $5 million, according to various reports, allowing him to unpack his moving boxes at a lofty property featuring vintage hardwood architecture and an expansive outdoor entertainment center.

Reports say the late actor's wife, Jacqueline, donated the property to Autry National Center of the American West after Autry passed away in 1998. The group had since been unsuccessful in its attempts to re-zone the property for use as a museum dedicated to the actor, forcing it to put the home on the market in August 2010 for $6.9 million. Probst will ultimately be moving into the property at a 28 percent discount.

Probst has won four Emmys for hosting and producing "Survivor," which is currently in its 22nd season.
