Hollywood star Jack Nicholson moving out of Colorado home

March 19, 2012 - Real estate source reports that actor Jack Nicholson may be calling for movers as he recently listed one of his longtime homes in Aspen, Colorado, for sale. Records show he purchased the estate back in 1980 for $550,000, much less than the $15 million price tag it has now.

While Nicholson is best known for his roles on the big screen including the Shining, Something's Gotta Give and Easy Rider, the real estate blog, The Real Estalker, notes he has an extensive real estate portfolio which includes homes in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Malibu, Kailua and three homes in Aspen. In recent years, he has been selling more than buying.

The mountain home was built in 1895 and was remodeled in 1988. It offers 5,780 square feet of living space including five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and 2 half baths. The Victorian-style mansion has hand-carved railings, a wood-burning fireplace, an oversized jacuzzi and is located near a ski area.

It has yet to be reported if he will be buying another home in the mountain area, but he will likely be moving boxes into his two other homes in the area at least temporarily.
