John McCain�s former home faces foreclosure

June 29, 2011 - Senator John McCain is typically known for his solutions to the foreclosure crisis, not for being associated with underwater properties himself. But now McCain’s former home is up for foreclosure auction on the Arizona real estate market, according to Arizona Central.

The Phoenix estate was Cindy McCain’s childhood home, and the couple raised their seven children their before packing up and moving out in 2006, at the height of the real estate boom. The current owner has made the home available to renters until the foreclosure auction takes place on August 15, the source reports.

Before the McCains sold the property, Architectural Digest toured it and spoke to the couple about the family's attachment to the home.

"Almost every memory I have of childhood is in this house - very happy memories," Cindy McCain explained to the source. "I want my children to know this house and have these memories."

With 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, the home has plenty of room for a new family to move in. A chef's kitchen, butler's pantry and a scad of outdoor bars also make for comfortable dining, Arizona Central reports.
