Former Britney Spears rental pad up for bids

October 11, 2011 - A former rental property of pop tart Britney Spears is ready to hit the auction block in Calabasas, California, according to Curbed.

The owner spent $7.7 million constructing the property only to decide it was too big. Spears took a turn as a home renter for two years in the space before calling the moving company and heading out, the source explains.

The seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom home has 10,300 square feet of living space and a bevy of celebrity-worthy amenities for the new homeowners to enjoy after moving day. Situated on 1.22 acres of land, the home has a private tennis court, outdoor spa and boasts sweeping mountain views, Realtor.com reports.

The movers can use the home’s elevator to help them unload the moving boxes, and then possibly unwind in one of the space’s two steam rooms. There is also a wine cellar, movie theater and guest house on the property to accommodate out-of-town visitors. Interested homebuyers should be prepared to cough up quite a bit to live in the spacious domain, as the home’s starting bid is $4.49 million, according to the source.
