Real estate company launches smartphone-accessible websites

March 30, 2010 - While many organizations have web-based databases that are intended to keep prospective renters connected to the real estate market, one company has announced the launch of new sites that can be accessed anywhere at any time.

Camden Property Trust, a company that specializes in the ownership, development, acquisition, management and disposition of apartment complexes, has created mobile websites that are intended for use on smartphones, such as iPhones, BlackBerry devices, Droids and the Palm Pre.

Visitors to these sites will be able to search for apartments, view floorplans or reserve a property for up to 72 hours without downloading any applications. They can also access videos, community information, building amenities and real-time pricing information. In addition, the websites will have a GPS functionality, which will enable searchers to find a property in their area while they are viewing others.

Kristy Simonette, the company's CIO and senior vice president of strategic services, said that the mobile sites are intended to "offer prospective renters all of the same features and functionality as [the] main website, while providing on-the-go access."
