The buyer may be working with a buyer's agent or a subagent. A buyer's agent will look out for the buyer's interest only and not reveal any confidential information to the seller. However, a subagent who really works for the seller can reveal any information the buyer passed on. This may include information on how high the buyer will actually go on price. From a sellers perspective a subagent is an excellent source of information.
