Replacing the Valve Seat


If the faucet still leaks you will need to replace the seat. Follow these steps to replace the seat.
  1. Disassemble the unit.

  2. Look into the valve body and inspect the faucet seat while the stem is out.

  3. If the valve has a removable seat, remove it.

  4. Purchase the correct replacement seat.

  5. Replace the seat.

  6. Coat the washer and all other moving parts with heat-proof grease.

  7. Replace the stem washer and packing as necessary.

  8. Reassemble the faucet.
