Susan Sarandon is spreading out in New York City

June 30, 2011 - Susan Sarandon recently wrested ownership of the two-story penthouse she shared with former partner and fellow actor Tim Robbins. The Oscar-winning actress paid $3.2 million to obtain sole ownership of the New York City spread in a building where single floor apartments can go for upwards of $5 million, according to Curbed.

However, it seems the eligible bachelorette may be enlisting the help of a moving company despite her real estate victory. That is because Sarandon reportedly purchased an additional downtown penthouse for $1.75 million, according to The New York Observer.

Located at 61 West 9th Street, the pre-war construction home in Greenwhich Village has one bedroom and one bathroom. The spacious living room has a wood-burning fireplace to heat things up on winter nights and an open kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and granite counter tops. French doors give the apartment added character while a wraparound terrace with space for planting and panoramic city views make the space envy-worthy, according to Street Easy.

Ms. Sarandon has not made her duplex available to homebuyers as of yet, but the recent purchase has The New York Observer speculating on where she will be spending her summer.
