South Dakota county tops for job growth

July 19, 2010 - Residents of Lincoln County, South Dakota might notice a growing number of out-of-towners moving in.

That's because that county is tops in the nation for job growth, according to CNN Money Magazine's list of Best Places to Live. From 2000 to 2009, employment opportunities grew 67 percent, making the area particularly intriguing to job-seekers from across the country. Couple that with the fact that the state doesn't levy an income tax, and suddenly South Dakota could be an intriguing locale for people who want to find a job and keep most of their earnings.

Texas similarly offers no income tax plus a high rate of job growth. That state had five counties in the top 10 - Williamson County at second overall with 58.9 percent growth, Hays County at third, and Fort Bend, Webb, and Collin counties at the fifth, sixth, and seventh spots. Colorado was also well-represented with two counties in the top 10, including Douglas County at four and Broomfield County at eight.

Moving to any one of these states can be made simpler through affordable mobile storage units.
