Singer Freda Payne sells home in Southern California

September 6, 2012 - Soul songstress Freda Payne may be calling for moving services, as the Los Angeles Times reports she has sold her home in Los Angeles. While public records don't list the amount she paid for the home many years back, the source notes it has sold for $2.25 million.

Payne is best known for her single Band of Gold, which she released early in her career. She went on to star in a number of musicals, films and talk shows and continues to tour today as she approaches her 70th birthday.

According to the Times, the contemporary-style home offers 2,692 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Other features of the home that may have attracted the buyer include a swimming pool, high ceilings, a top-of-the-line kitchen and a den complete with a wet bar.

While the singer may profit from the sale, she may not start moving boxes into a new home right away if she decides to go on tour.
