Private sector jobs jump in January

March 3, 2011 - In a positive sign for the real estate and moving market, a new report shows private employment increased from January to February.

Private employers added 217,000 new jobs between those two months, while the estimated growth between December and January was upwardly revised to 189,000, reported ADP Employment Services. On average, the private sector has added more jobs between December and February than it did throughout the entire six-month period before that.

That recent level of growth suggests companies are regaining the financial confidence and wherewithal to increase their payrolls, a move that experts say will trickle down through the economy and give more consumers the backing they need to consider relocating to a new home.

"Three months in a row with a data base this large and this broad with these kinds of increases is signaling to me that employment is starting to pick up," Joel Prakken, chairman of Macroeconomic Advisors, told CNBC.

Americans who are picking their next relocation destination based off employment opportunities may want to consider moving to North Dakota or Washington, D.C. Those two markets were ranked as the country's strongest for jobs by a Gallup survey.
