Oprah's friend Gayle King moving out of New York City penthouse

February 24, 2012 - Real estate blog The Real Estalker reports that Gayle King, best friend to Oprah Winfrey may be needing movers as she recently listed a penthouse in New York City.

Sources speculate that the home was likely purchased by Winfrey and not King given her habit of buying million-dollar listings and has been linked to the properties purchase back in 2008 for $7.1 million while it has been listed for sale for $7.9 million.

According to the site, the penthouse is located at Place 57 and sits on the 36th floor. With wrap-around windows and outdoor terraces, the home offers sky-high city views and has reportedly played host to a number of celebrity gatherings.

Listing information says the home has 2,530 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, and the terraces provide nearly 750 square feet of additional room. Other notable features of the home include 12-foot ceilings, walnut floors and a gourmet kitchen. King will likely miss other hotel amenities after moving such as the top-of-the-line fitness center or the white glove services.
