NASCAR star Joe Nemechek set to auction NC home

July 11, 2012 - Fans of NASCAR driver and owner Joe Nemechek may be surprised to hear the champion is auctioning off his home in Mooresville, North Carolina. News sources say the home has previously been listed for sale with a $10.995 million asking price, but it is set to be auctioned off in the beginning of August.

A native to Florida, Nemechek is also known as Front Row Joe and is the winner of many awards including the 1990 Busch Series Rookie of the Year and the Most Popular Driver in both 1992 and 1993.

The home was originally built for fellow racing legend Ernie Irvan in 2001 and is located on 139 acres of land, just north of the busy city of Charlotte. With 8,900 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the home is perfect for large families who desire privacy. Other notable features of the home that should have bidders moving boxes in include a media room, an outdoor kitchen, a swimming pool and spa and a huge climate-controlled garage.

While it has not been reported where Nemechek is relocating to, he will likely miss the estate's equestrian facilities, including 18 European-style stalls and the miles of trails that wrap around the property.
