Chef and restaurateur Georges Perrier reduces price of Philadelphia home

March 8, 2012 - Sources say celebrity chef Georges Perrier may be calling for movers soon, as he recently shopped the price of his home in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. The pricetag was reportedly reduced by $150,000 and the property is currently listed for sale for $2.5 million.

Perrier recently retired from cooking in the famed Philadelphia restaurant Le Bec-Fin and is said to be writing a book in the next few years.

The three-story home sits on just under an acre of land and offers 9,000 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. The property also has a separate guest house that sits over the garage with its own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Other features of the home include refinished hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen, a library with a wet bar and a 2,000-bottle wine cellar.

Sources speculate as to where Perrier will be relocating to, but doubt he will flock to Florida like many other retirees while potential buyers will need a large number of moving boxes to fill the humongous home.
