Getting an Inspection: Make Sure You Are There

Sunday, February 13, 2011 -

By Relocation.com Staff

We recommended that you be with the inspector when he is conducting your home inspection. If the inspector specifically requests that you not be with him, it is advisable not to hire this person. It is also recommended that the home be inspected during the day when it is easy to view all areas. Also, make sure the weather conditions permit a thorough inspection. For example, if it is snowing, the inspector may be unable to examine the roof or gutters thoroughly.

The inspector evaluates the condition of the property and not the value. The inspector does not examine the home cosmetically. For example, he will not check the carpet or curtains in the home.
