Liability insurance

This covers you for any bodily injury or property damage you or your family cause to other people. However, if you, a member of your family or your pet causes damage to your own property, you are generally not covered. The policy generally covers you or your family anywhere in the world. A $100,000 coverage level is normal, though, it is advisable to obtain about three to five times that amount. Check your policy to see what the default amount is and then decide if this is enough for you and your family. If your neighbor damages your property, you are covered under their policy, not yours. Most policies include a no-fault medical coverage. In the event a person damages himself on your property, he can submit the medical bills directly to your insurance company where the bills will be paid. This way there will be no claim against you. The amount is generally capped, though, as with most insurances options, extra coverage may be purchased.
