New Fridge Installation

A fridge is probably the easiest appliance to install as you only need to plug it in and you're good to go except when there's an in door water dispenser and ice dispenser. If the fridge you choose comes with these extras you will need to run a water line to the back of the fridge. This is pretty simple to complete. You need
  • 2 adjustable wrenches

  • A power drill

  • A half to three quarter inch spade bit

  • An icemaker water supply kit (usually includes a saddle tee for tapping in to the cold water supply line)

  • A compression fitting tee unit

Follow these easy steps to complete…
  1. Find the cold water supply line. It's usually but not always the one on the right.

  2. Determine whether you use a saddle valve in your area of the country.

  3. If you cannot use a saddle valve, you need to install a compression fitting connection valve.

  4. You will need to feed the copper tubing to the fridge (you may need to put a hole in the wall or ceiling).

  5. After all the connections are made, open up the water supply and check for leaks.
