A mutual friend of ours, Tammy Leggitt, mentioned to me that you were looking for a brand manager. I am writing to tell you that I am very much interested in the job, and believe I have the qualifications and background you are seeking.
As you can see from the resume I have enclosed, I have more than 15 years' experience in marketing, almost all of it in the food industry. Much of the work I have been involved in matches the main responsibilities of the job you are seeking to fill.
I know quite a bit about Purdy's Foods, having worked closely with your sales force while working for Jones Foods several years ago. I know of the value placed on the dynamic loyal employees and the fast-paced environment.

My resume indicates that I have been out of the workforce for the past five years, primarily because I limited myself to freelance work until my son began school. Now that he is in school, I am looking forward to getting back into the marketing world full-time.
