Texture on Floors

Floors have to be functional. People have to walk on floors so they must have flat smooth surfaces. Think your choices are limited by this? Think again.

Consider the differences between glazed ceramic tile, quarry tile, wool carpet wooden flooring and brick floors. Each of these materials traditionally works well with one or more wall textures.

Here are some examples.
  • Ceramic tile works well with paneled or faux painted walls

  • Quarry tile works well with textured wall paper and fine or lightly textured paint in a casual room.

  • Brick works wonderfully well with wooden paneled walls and wallpaper

  • Wooden flooring works well with pretty much all wall textures and styles

  • Wool carpeting works well with wooden wall panels and painted plaster walls.
