Contractors and Cost

By Relocation.com Staff

Most contractors get deep discounts on materials. Depending on the project and the quantity of materials needed it could be wiser to consider a contractor to save big dollars.

For example, if you decide to lay a new carpet yourself and you make one mistake this could cost a lot of money of money to replace the carpet. If you want to get a handle on general labor costs visit a home center where many items will be priced with and without installation. Subtract one from the other and the cost of labor.

You may not have all the tools to complete the project and may need to purchase them. A contractor will already have the tools so you should consider the cost of the tools also. On the other hand if you reuse the tools over and over again they are well worth the cost. The other option available is tool rental. Most home stores have tool rentals available.
