History:
The first European settlers arrived in the area in 1888 and named their settlement Sutherland. In 1925 Sutherland became Palm Harbor.

Tourism:
The wonderful climate of Palm Harbor draws tourists all year round. To cater to their needs, there are numerous restaurants and shops in the downtown area, as well as some historic buildings. Many craft fairs and festivals are held throughout the year, mainly in the downtown area. The First Friday Celebrations offer fun for young and old, with food, games, rides and handcrafts on offer.The Taste of Palm Harbor is held on the first Sunday in October every year. It is well known for its offerings of live music and seafood specialties.
