You will then need to set a price when you sell your home and this can be done by getting input from a number of sources. If you decide to use a real estate agent for consultancy, the agent will be able to help to set a price. Check out the local papers for list process of similar properties in your area. The similar homes should be alike in structure, size and style with approximately the same number and type of rooms. You could also get an appraisal, though this will cost you up to $500 depending on the area of the county you live in. Electronic appraisals are available and some are free.

Besides the price, you will need to decide acceptable financial terms. These are the earnest money and down payment amounts you will ask for.
