Renton, Washington

Renton is a part of the eastside suburbs of Washington State and has a population of 90,920. It also does its best to further the development of many recreational attractions in the city. These factors keep Renton moving companies busy - bringing in new families every day.

Economy:
The coal mining business flourished in Renton during the early 1870s up to the 1930s. It was in the Second World War that Boeing built their Renton Factory. It initially produced fighter and bomber aircrafts but now continues to operate and manufacture commercial aircrafts. Boeing remains to be the largest employer of the city up until this day.

PACCAR and its subsidiary Kenworth, are truck manufacturing companies that also provides much of the employment in Renton. The office of the social-networking site Classmate.com is also located in the city’s Southgate Office Park.

The south shore of Lake Washington is Renton’s central location is easily accessed through Interstate 405 and four other state highways. Being a suburb, Renton has a talented and well-educated workforce. The local average for employees who have completed a four-year course is nearly twice the national average.

History:
The Duwamish people were the first inhabitants of Renton. They built fishing dams and villages along the rivers. With the financial backing of Capt. William Renton, Erasmus M. Smithers founded the Renton Coal Company and established the town in 1873. In 1901, Renton was incorporated into a city. Coal mining and timber sawmill industries became major economic activities in the area.

The population of Renton boomed during the Second World War, as it became a manufacturer of warplanes and later on commercial aircrafts. In fact, the Renton Chronicles proclaimed the city to be the jet capital of the world.

Today, the city continues to grow as an industrial and manufacturing hub for aircrafts and other businesses. It is also recently focusing on the development and revitalization of its residential areas. Renton City Movers are always busy because of the influx of people who are attracted to this new development.
