History:
Morenno Valley was originally divided into three communities. The original three were Sunnymead, Edgemont and Moreno. They sprung as a result of the construction of March Air field which was built in 1918 when the US was planning for the First World War. March field was closed in 1922 and reopened in 1927 as a training center for pilots.

The three communities were originally under the governance of Riverside County. The residents wanted autonomy thus they voted to merge all three communities into one independent city in 1984. There were two previous attempts to incorporate the communities but these failed and it was on the third attempt that the new independent city was finally formed.

Tourism:
Two popular places to visit in the city are the CrossWinds Community Theatre and the March Field Air Museum. The community theater is composed local artists who seek to provide entertainment to both the locals and visitors. The Museum on the other hand houses many of the planes that used to be stationed in the area. Aside from the different planes on display they also have a couple of ballistic missile exhibits. The city also has a couple of golf courses that might interest tourists who enjoy the sport.
