January 17, 2012 - Sources report that Jonathan Papelbon has officially listed his home in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood for sale. The former Red Sox pitcher and his wife purchased the penthouse on Beacon Street for $2.67 million but have listed it at $3.1 million after numerous home improvements.Palpelbon served as the closer for the Boston Red Sox for six years, helping the team win the World Series in 2007. Recently he signed a four-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies worth $50 million.The home was built in 2009 and has 2,500 square feet of living space including four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Photos of the home shown in the listing show off its modern interior design with open spaces decorated in mostly neutral colors. Other features of the home include hardwood floors, high ceilings, custom cabinetry, a chef's kitchen and copper fixtures throughout. Outdoor amenities include private parking, two decks and an over-sized hot tub all with views of the city.It has not been reported if Papelbon and his family will be moving into a new home in Philadelphia, but sources say they won't be staying in Boston.
