Lindsay Lohan may relocate to New York

August 13, 2010 - In an interview with the Today Show, Lindsay Lohan's mother said that the actress may be moving away from California.

Having served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence and now spending time at a court-appointed rehabilitation center, moving back to New York could be just what Lindsay needs to get her life back on track, Dina Lohan told Matt Lauer. Many people have criticized her parenting skills in light of her daughter's reported drug use and run-ins with the law, but Lohan insisted those comments were baseless.

"When she went out to Los Angeles when she was 19, I had to let her go and let her live and fall and fail and survive," she told Lauer. "Without failure, there's no success. I was there in close proximity, but you can't make your child not go out and go to a club and not get behind the wheel of a car. I certainly don't condone any of that behavior."

Dina Lohan isn't the only celebrity concerned with moving their family away from Hollywood's negative influences. Actor Mark Wahlberg has also openly pondered moving away from Los Angeles to protect his young children.
