I was told by the office staff before the move that if we would move all boxes, bags, and smaller articles and furniture out of the house and to the truck that it would decrease the load time and lessen the cost of the move. The only written estimate I got was for $1,000. They also suggested that we help with the unloading and anything we could do to shorten the time it took for the movers as they were being paid $95/hour. after the truck was unloaded at the end destination, I was told that it was a fixed rate move of $2,500. The movers were unprofessional, sloppy, and slow. We did over 80 percent of the work and were still charged as if they had done all with work. They were 3 1/2 hours late and didn't bring a big enough truck for what I'd told them I would have. The remainder of my household articles that couldn't be moved in the initial truck were finally picked up two months later. The company's only response was a blanket email apology for a misunderstanding. Horrible, horrible moving company to work with.
