Dimension Moving
I asked about insurance for the two pianos I had moved and the representative assured me there was
insurance included in the price so I probably would not need anything additional. He originally quoted me a price of $270 but told me if I paid cash, I would receive a 5% discount; I made sure to have cash and did pay in cash but the foreman told me the price was still $270. I did not feel like arguing with him since it was so late by the time they showed up. They were scheduled to come between 4 and 6:00 p.m. and called around 5:30 and said they couldn't make it until about 8:30. They showed up about 9:05 p.m. In addition, when they took the larger piano to by primary residence, they scratched the wood floor; when they moved the smaller piano from my primary residence to the other residence, they dropped the music holder and broke the wood on it so that the screw does not stay on to hold the stand in place. The foreman had already given me the "no damage" form to sign prior to this damage and I did not know they had scratched the wood floor prior to signing it either. Had they not arrived so late, perhaps I would not have been so tired and would have argured more about the price and the damage. I did follow up within the next couple of days with an email message to the estimator whom I had originally emailed and spoken to, but I have yet to receive any type of reply from him or anyone else in the company.
