Prairie Van Review
The estimate I received was significantly lower than the final cost. Based on an on site walk-through of my home, they estimated four movers and one truck. On the move date, the company determined that two trucks would be needed. They indicated they would not charge for the second trip (time). They moved one truck (loaded, then unloaded) returned and loaded the same truck and unloaded. They estimated eight hours, and it in fact took 12 hours. I believe that with a larger truck or having two actual trucks, the time would have been less and the new buyer of my home could have moved in on time (vs. waiting for the crew to finish up loading). Other
moving companies estimated closer to the actual cost of this move ($1,700-$1,800).
