Bad Experience
I am a very organized person and when I called moving companies I had a list of all questions to ask - what's included? Do you charge extra for blankets? boxes? paper? tape? I had another stop to go to, so I asked if there was a charge for that - and many more. The moving company insisted that everything was included and that there was no extra charge for another stop. The customer service rep was helpful and assured me there were no hidden charges. I booked them and was ready to go.
Moving day comes and the foreman shows me a paper which states that blankets cost $4 each, plus additional for boxes and other items. So I said, do we get to keep them? I was outraged. Then he said it was $300 to go to another stop. They charged us $25 for a TV box and on top of that $25 for white paper for the TV. Our estimate doubled and cost more for supplies than to pack the truck up and move. When I called the woman who helped me she simply stated "I never told you that." The foreman said they do this all the time. In this economy to 'nickel and dime' people and charge $4 a blanket, which you don't get to keep, basically it's rented and then they go to the next house and do the same. The best part is they only accept cash. But the apologetic foreman said you could claim it for your taxes. I have no idea if they used the 30 blankets they charged me and my husband for, but I know I would not recommend this company.
