Moving with Master Movers
They were late: My estimated time of arrival for the movers was between 1 and 3p.m., but they did not arrive until 7p.m. that night, therefore not finishing the move until 9p.m. The estimate was confusing: I was told I needed to provide a down payment of $69.99 on a credit card, and then I had a balance of $210. So, I only got cash out for $210 plus a tip for the movers, and then when it came time for final payment, I was told that the down payment was not a down payment, but rather a hold and I had to pay cash for it all, including the $69 I thought was being charged because it "costs a fee to the moving company if they charge it." So I had to go get more cash out last minute. The movers scratched up my door frame -- carrying a love seat into a bedroom, but I didn't notice until after they left. I didn't report it to the moving company because I assumed it would be more of a hassle.
