Avoid Direct Movers- Pikesville, MD
I was given an estimate of $1,000 for our move (this was based on weight). The
movers showed up and demanded more money claiming that we had "almost double" what we said we were going to move. I said fine but told them that they needed to provide a weight certificate to us when they delivered our stuff to justify the additional charges. On the day our stuff was delivered, the driver (a subcontractor) did not have a weight certificate and estimated the weight of our stuff to be well below what we told them when making the initial contract. I tried contacting Direct Movers to receive a copy of the weight certificate but my numerous calls and emails went unanswered. I am now working with my credit card company to the additional money back and am planning to take them to court. While they did a good job moving my belongings, they're running a bait and switch scam. I would not recommend this company.
