Sad and disappointed
First, the estimator promised me more than once that the company did not outsource, that it would be First USA that picked up our belongings and First USA that dropped everything off.
The van that dropped off our things was an Enterprise rental truck with a paper that said something like, "S&L Movers" taped to the front door of the van. When I called to set up a moving day, the estimator suggested that if we moved up our moving time by two days, we would have our delivery by the day we needed. They were two days late. Granted the weather was undesirable, but there was very little contact between the driver or company and me.
There were several things broken, including my great great grandmother's cedar chest and my great grandmother's rocking chair. Also my mother's brand new clothes chest was broken, and several of our boxes had rips or large holes and were smashed on the top. A couple dishes were broken despite being wrapped in paper and bubble wrap. They turned all the furniture upside down and we found screws, nails, other hardware and trash in our driveway once the drop-off crew left, including some branches from the tree in the front yard that the truck knocked off.
