Nightmare

After an ample research, we have chosen Experience Van Lines to execute my moving to my new apartment, three blocks away from the old one. The deal was that, by the price of $315.00, the moving would be done, including the insurance, the wrapping material to all our stuff and the moving of our furniture, clothes and kitchen utensils.

We scheduled the moving for November 2nd at 9:30 a.m. It was when the nightmare began:

1. Scheduled day – On November 1st, the company called us postponing the moving to 1 p.m. on the next day. On November 2nd, they postponed once more to 4:30 p.m. When they finally arrived, it was not possible to start the moving, because the limit time in the building was 5 p.m. As a result, my husband and I lost a whole day waiting for the moving crew. After a lot of phone calls, the moving was rescheduled to the next day, between 8:30 and 9 a.m.

2. Price - The initial price was $315.00, but by the time the crew arrived, a new estimate price was given: $890.00. Later when my stuff was inside the truck another price was showed: $1,240.00. We had to agree with this because we had no options.

3. Time - The moving took seven hours. It’s completely unacceptable for a small, two-bedroom house and a few boxes. In addition, a lot of things were already packed and ready to move.

4. Damaged furniture: two mattress boxes, a coffee table, two table lamps.

5. Some of our kitchen utensils and our dining table. The movers informed us that they didn’t have the tools to detach the parts of the table and for that reason they just left it there. So I had to pay another person to complete the moving.

Initial estimates resulting in a binding estimate may well be much lower than actual price. Estimates are performed by brokers, NOT the moving companies....

I would not recommend that you use this company. They provided me with an estimate and never told me that I would have to rent blankets, etc. After they were done packing, they then doubled the p...

The estimate was wildly too low and they only accept cash paid before unloading, so we were truly stuck. Also, they promised blankets...

An hour late

They showed up an hour late, which made me lose my storage space since it had already closed.

Good job, good price

Three movers arrived, and we discussed how I wanted them to approach the move (which things were being moved, where the fragile things were, etc). Then they got started, and after a few hours my entir...
