First of all, I was told that the movers would arrive between 9 and 10 a.m. They showed up at 12 noon. Prior to the move date, I was given a "binding" estimate according to an inventory list that was approved and at least 95% accurate according to the moving supervisor. The supervisor never looked at the paperwork to see that there was an additional stop which was supposed to be free of charge per the binding estimate.
Once the movers were done packing all of my things on the truck (which took over 5 hrs), they wanted more money when I mentioned the 2nd stop! We argued for over an hour before he finally agreed to go to the 2nd stop (only after we agreed to pay more on delivery). It took another 5 hrs to pack up the 2nd stop.
When asked why the cost was so much more, we were told it was because all of our items were "oversized." Nowhere in the software when filling out the inventory list did anything state small, medium, large or oversize. We were told that we had oversized bins/boxes, furniture and everything else.
