Aviv Moving Company
My move was inter-state, and it took a full two weeks for my belongings to be delivered, which was the longest time they said it would take. The Aviv Movers in Boston were great and handled my belongings with care. However, the condition of my property upon delivery in Colorado is an entirely different story.
My boxes were literally flattened. Broken or destroyed items included a book shelf, a microwave, which was completely bashed in and beyond repair, glasses, picture frames, a crock pot, my computer desk, which sustained significant damage, including scratches, gashes, and the back of the desk was completely torn. The delivery movers were horrible. One actually threw a box from inside the truck to outside the truck onto the ground with me standing right there watching.
Fortunately, there was nothing breakable inside that box. They then told me I should have paid to have movers pack all my stuff because that would have ensured my belongings would have been cared for better during the move. After reporting the damage to Aviv, I was told my property had been transferred to and from "more trucks than they would have liked."
They sent me a claims form, which in fine print said the company does not replace anything made of wood or glass. That basically ruled out everything except my microwave. The movers made no effort to pack my boxes safely in the truck, which is what I paid them to do.
