One bedroom move
The movers themselves were very good, but I paid more for packing materials than I expected.
The estimator let me know that there would be additional cost for moving materials but told me as long as I had my stuff packed that it would only cost around $300 so I made sure to pack all my belongings in the week prior to my move.
Other than boxes I had a large bedroom set (solid wood), a couch, a loveseat, and a breakfast table. When the movers got there, I found out that every one of these items needed to be wrapped in furniture pads (which were free) but the tape used to secure the pads was an addtional cost. Also, even though it wasn't raining or wet outside, the movers wrapped shrink wrap on some of my stuff (which I didn't ask for and didn't know they were doing) and charged me for that at the end as well. In the end I paid an extra hour of labor and almost $150 in packing supplies.
The movers moved my stuff quickly, but they took a long time to wrap up all the furniture which was why the extra time was needed. All in all I thought the guys worked really hard and definitely did their job well, but I think I was overcharged on some of the moving supplies and the estimator should've been up front with those costs so I could've planned better. Bottomline is make sure you pay attention and know what you are paying for before they do it and you have no choice!
