There's No Magic
The mover and movers were good, but I had issues with the phone attendant, who told me I could schedule the move for any time I wanted and a day before the move said the window was 11-6.
I told her what she had promissed and she said I could look for another company - I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just couldn't take the day off and needed the move to start later in the day, so that's why I asked about it the first time I contacted them.
I was finally directed to someone who could solve my issue. After that the movers were at my place on time, but a move is a move - there's no technology or anything that can make it less painful. There's guys carrying heavy stuff, sweating and trying to get over with it, especially on a friday evening... they were as nice as they could be (2 of them, the 3rd not that much) given the heavy work they were doing, but there were some minor scretches on furniture and walls. At the end of the day, it's not their stuff, it's not their house - and they're tired.
